Angel Vitor

Angel is a natural history photographer with a lifelong vocation for the underwater world. With an academic background in both photography and marine biology, he has dedicated his life to give voice to aquatic ecosystems. Since the late 1980´s he has worked on countless projects for clients the standing of National Geographic, Smithsonian, GEO, UNESCO, and Netflix. Angel’s work has been awarded at the most influential photography contests of our time, including World Press Photo, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, American Photography, or Sony World Photography to name a few. In 2021, he was named European Wildlife Photographer of the Year by the German Society of Nature Photographers. The same year, Forbes Magazine ranked him 7th out of the 50 most awarded Spaniards. In 2025 The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation granted him the Environmental Photography Award. Alongside his own production, he regularly works as a scientific consultant for leading broadcasting companies such as Silverback Films, and BBC NHU. The seed of his early passion was greatly sown by imagery, so he firmly believes in photography as a vehicle for building awareness and empathy for the natural world.
