A green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) is released after being tagged and prepared by the Save Our Seas Foundation D’Arros Research Centre on the St. Joseph Atoll in the Seychelles. The researchers were trying to catch shark pups in a shallow seagrass meadow, but took the opportunity to learn from this teenage turtle that swam into the net. The turtle will now be tracked, and the information she provides will help ensure the reptiles continue their recovery from the brink of extinction.
