Sharon Guynup
Journalist, author, photographer and National Geographic Explorer (USA)

Sharon Guynup is an investigative journalist, photographer, producer and presenter who focuses on wildlife and environmental issues. She co-founded the nonprofit Big Cat Voices; is a National Geographic Explorer; and photographed in Turkey for a year on a Fulbright Fellowship. She received the National Geographic Society’s 2024 Eliza Scidmore Award for Outstanding Storytelling and was named a Changemaker in 2023 by New York University. She co-authored “Tigers Forever: Saving the World’s Most Endangered Big Cat” and the upcoming “Big Cats” with Steve Winter. Her work helped shut down Thailand’s infamousTiger Temple and helped pass a new U.S. law, The Big Cat Public Safety Act.
