Brown booby (Sula leucogaster) spend a significant portion of their lives out at sea where they feed on small fish and are often found resting on the water’s surface. These birds can often be seen submerging their heads looking for food. Having noticed this during a diving trip, I committed some time to photographing them underwater where I also learned the best approach to avoid scaring them away. This particular bird kept dipping its head at short intervals and I waited in position to try and get both of its eyes looking down.
