A word from the photographer: “A northern gannet tangled in a piece of fishing net. We can see that the net is stuck around its neck and between the mandibles of its beak. This handicap could impede the animal's ability to survive in its natural environment. This shows the terrible impact of pollution that kills thousands of marine animals every year."
