Drinking buddies
South Africa

A word from the photographer: “Zimanga is a reserve in Kwala-Zulu Natal, in South Africa, where the welfare of animals is a priority. Overnight hides make it possible for visitors to sit and watch as the animals come to drink at nightfall. This group of zebras arrived and drank, and I sat, waiting for them to settle down. They were constantly on alert, sensing any imminent danger. Even though the hide is some distance away, they could still sense our presence and any wrong move would have sent them running away.”
